Soul Exposed

Through my eyes, through my mind.

I am a photographer by trade but I have been writing since I was very young. I remember a portion of one of the first things I ever wrote as a child. “Through volcanic ash and dragon tears.” Since then songs, poetry, and prose haves been a companion to me in the best of times and the worst of times. It’s traveled with me through the depths of depression, through the heights of love and the pain of heartbreak. Writing for me is not an act of will, my words come from a deep spring of emotion within me that is as spontaneous as a tear or a laugh. There has been many times in my life where it has gone dormant like a flower bulb in the fall and other times where the spring becomes an epic flood.

This book showcases my connection to the world, where my subject and I are one and we mirror one another. Life given to life, facets are carved, emotions ascribed to the subject through me. They speak to me and I speak to them. For the bloom that wilts in time will always be remembered and immortalized. Imbued with my very being. Laid bare, my soul is exposed for the world to see.
